“The doctor could have easily sold me a product that I don't need, but she was honest and up front, advising that the benefits would not override the drawbacks. Very impressed with the honesty and professionalism!”— James Davis

New Patient FAQs
Plan for about 60 minutes. That gives us time to review your hearing history, perform a comprehensive hearing evaluation in our sound-treated booth, and walk through the results with you in detail. If hearing aids are recommended, we will also discuss technology options, pricing, and next steps during the same visit.
Arriving 15 minutes early to finish any remaining paperwork helps keep your appointment on schedule.
In most cases, no. You can call Allen Audiology directly at (610) 439-1196 to schedule your hearing evaluation without a physician referral. Some insurance plans, however, may require a referral.
If your primary care physician or an ENT specialist has referred you, please bring any referral paperwork or relevant medical records to your appointment.
Please bring your insurance card, a photo ID, a list of current medications, and any previous hearing test results or audiograms you have. If you downloaded and completed the patient intake forms from our website or if we mailed the intake forms to you ahead of time, please bring completed forms to your appointment — it saves time at check-in.
We also encourage you to bring a family member or close friend. Having someone familiar with you during the evaluation helps your audiologist understand the real-world listening situations that matter most to you.
We work with most major insurance carriers, including Medicare, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Healthcare. If you have questions about your coverage, call our office at (610) 439-1196, and we will direct you accordingly. Please note that we do not accept third-party hearing aid benefit programs at this time.
For patients without insurance or with limited coverage, we offer CareCredit financing with 12 months no interest. Call (610) 439-1196 to discuss your specific plan before your visit.
Your audiologist will review the audiogram with you on the spot, explaining the type and degree of any hearing loss in plain, easy-to-understand terms. If hearing aids are recommended, we will walk you through technology options from brands like ReSound and Phonak, discuss pricing and insurance coverage, and answer every question before you make a decision.
There is never any pressure to commit the same day. Every hearing aid purchase includes a 60-day risk-free trial, professional fitting and programming, and ongoing service at no additional charge — so you can move forward with confidence.
